Press Release for 9 Dec 2008

Stairways Software releases Keyboard Maestro 3.5

Perth, Western Australia - 9 December 2008 - Stairways Software Pty Ltd is pleased to announce Keyboard Maestro 3.5, the new version of its powerful productivity enhancer for Mac OS X.

This release adds support for remotely controlling your Mac using Keyboard Maestro Control, and new iPhone application available from the App Store. This allows you to execute any macro on your Mac from anywhere with your iPhone or iPod touch. For example, you could control a slide show, launch or quit servers (including iTunes), run scripts, or perform any of the many actions Keyboard Maestro supports. Keyboard Maestro Control will be available from the App Store today (9 December 2008).

This release also continues to enhance the user interface, adding a shiny new macro palette, as well as new About window and a new Preferences window based on Matt Ball's MBPreferencesController.

We have also added a number of new actions, allowing you to set (or increase or decrease) the rating of the currently playing iTunes song, or to set the iTunes or system volume.

A number of other enhancements and bug fixes as documented below are also included.

Using Keyboard Maestro's macros you can control and enhance applications; control windows or menus; insert text; open documents, applications or URLs; execute scripts; control the system or iTunes; and more, all with the touch of a key, click of the mouse, periodically or at specific times, when an application is launched or running, or even over the Internet using Keyboard Maestro Control on your iPhone or iPod touch, or using a web browser to access Keyboard Maestro's built in web server.

Using Keyboard Maestro's Program Switcher and Window Switcher you can cycle through applications or windows, closing, hiding, launching, and more. Keyboard Maestro can help you regain control of your crowded screen by letting you close or hide multiple windows or applications.

Using Keyboard Maestro's Clipboard Switcher, you can select from a number of named clipboards, storing information away for later retrieval. Store the details you are working on and access them by name again and again.

Using Keyboard Maestro's Clipboard History Switcher, you can access past clipboards, so you will never lose your clipboard again. It also makes it easy to copy and paste multiple items such as username and password or serial number without having to switch back and forth between applications for each item.
